Susan's sketchbook log: Tuscany

romaAll roads leave from Rome

All too soon, it's back to Roma and an overnight before a flight home out of Fiumicino.

I notice that in this land where footwear is a serious matter (there's a Bruno Magli store next to my departure gate), the Italian equivalent of TSA do not ask us to remove our shoes. We do, however, all raise our hands above our heads to pass through the machine, since the equipment seems to pick up the abundance of metal from rings and bracelets.

At the "Goodbye Roma" bar-caffe, accessories seem a little more stylish than they did back in Seattle -- the beribboned hat, the polka dot bag, the Ferrari store bag.

So, it's time to say "Ciao."

As always, I welcome your comments.

Fiumicino
