Susan's sketchbook log: Buenos Aires

Tigre

Buenos Aires Rowing Club, Tigre

A train to Mitre and then the Tren de la Costa (the Train of the Coast) gets you to the Paraná river delta and the popular weekend escape town of Tigre, named for the tigers (jaguars) once hunted here.

You can walk around the old Fruit Market (now more crafts and pizza places than fruit), gawk at some amazing architecture, including the Buenos Aires Rowing Club (left, the sketch too much to finish over lunch across the river) and visit the art museum, housed in the old casino.

But mostly people get on boats and cruise the delta or visit other islands. I combined a short cruise with a boat back to BA (below)
